Mama Hog MH80SC-1 Trolling Rod - Two Piece Medium Power, Moderate Action. This rod is Mama Hog's own blank and has been very carefully designed.  This Rod is for all types of trolling. Downriggers, Planerboards, Dipsydivers, Leaded Line and wireline. Mama Hog fishes so many species with this rod, it covers a great spread with the best quality you can get.

This rod had boat braced silicone carbide guides. These are premium guides, and cant be bent nor damaged. The guides can handle all line types including, Braid, Mono, Flouro, Leaded Line, and All Wireline types. We use a fuiji reel seat with trigger and eva foam grips, the fore grip is trigular and feels great in your hand. This rod has a removeable butt cap that exposes the gimball. The gimball is a cut out that snaps and fits in your downrigger to hold the rod straight and reel up.

This rod has the backbone for large fish and a sensitve moderate action tip. Best of both worlds. Mama Hog uses this to recieve lure action feedback to dial in speeds or whatever is needed to get that bait just right. It hooks fish well and has the right limber  bend to help a hard fighting fish at the boat stay hooked.

• Silicone Carbide Guides: These guides do very well with all line types including wireline, braid, mono, flouro, and leaded line. These guides provide great strength while minimizing friction.
• Fuji Reel Seat and Eva Foam Grips: This rod features a fuji reel seat for medium-small reels and large EVA foam grips. The finger-hold and EVA foam grips offer the angler comfortable control while handling this rod!
• Gimball With Removeable Cap: This rod was designed with a gimball rod butt with removeable cap. The gimball provides superior rod control while trolling and will prevent the rod from twisting.
• Medium Moderate Action Design: The medium-moderate action of this rod is versatile, allowing anglers to accurately read baits when trolling while also maintaining maximum feel and control when applying other methods. The flexibility of this rod will ensure that your fish stayed hooked!
