The jury is still out on this relatively new style of line. Made of nylon, it has similar properties to monofilament but has the added benefits of lower visibility, higher abrasion resistance, and lower diameter to strength ratio than monofilament. It’s visibility is near that of fluorocarbon.
The abrasion resistances and smaller diameter rivals braid without the visibility that braid presents. It works without a leader when fishing for Northern Pike, walleye, or muskie and is equally adept at covering rocky or submerged woody areas after crappie, or perch with its greater abrasion resistance compared to monofilament.
The diverse colors available with copolymer line allow it to match the sky and water color when trout fishing, making it even less visible when tied to a spinner or spoon. This versatile line is also at home in ice fishing applications.

- Lower visibility
