DDM4 rifles come in two versions, the original DDM4 patterned after the M4 carbine and the newer, DDM4 V7. Originally a full-auto 5.56 NATO assault rifle designed for U.S and foreign military, these two versions are semi-auto and destined for military, government enforcement agencies, law enforcement and civilian use. Both DDM’s are well engineered with CNC machining. They’re durable, reliable and offer great performance. Versions are available in short barrel, suppressed and light weight options in both 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout. They offer a variety of Cerakote options.
The major difference between the DDM4 and the DDM4 V7 is the front grip. The V7 has a shorter offhand grip. These front grips aid in close range firing. There are many different patterns available, and two primary calibers, 5.56 NATO and .300 Blackout, though 6.8 MM is now available in limited production. Different barrel and overall lengths and handguard styles are other options that create a different profile.
Most DDM4 rifles are chambered in 5.56 MM NATO. The second option is .300 AAC Blackout and now a few are available in 6.8 MM SPC. Each caliber has its pros and cons, but most DDM4’s are manufactured in 5.56.
A wide range of barrel lengths, from seven to 18-inches are options on specific models. There are five cold hammer forged barrel profiles: M4, Government, Lightweight, Strength-to-Weight and Stainless Steel. A barrel profile is differentiated by weight, overall strength and cut. Each barrel is matched with a Pistol, Carbine, Mid or Rifle length gas system that optimizes overall performance.
Six different DDM4 models are currently available. The V1, V4, V5, V7, V9 and V11. The V1 and V7 are the most popular.
DDM4 V1
The original, dating back to 2009, features a 16-inch M4 profile. It functions with a Carbine length gas system and arrives with a standard 12-inch Picatinny rail. A “Grip-N-Rip” charging handle, fixed rear sights and a proprietary, Daniel Defense System flash suppressor. The grips and stock are glass filled polymer with “Soft Touch Overmolding.” It is available in 5.56 or 300 Blackout.
DDM4 V7
This most popular version of the DDM4 comes in seven different configurations, and demand is high for all of them. Chambered in 5.56 NATO most often, it is also available in .300 Blackout and 6.8 MM SPC. The 6.8 MM cartridge is relatively new and growing in popularity. The biggest difference you’ll notice between the V1 and V7 is the 15-inch MFR Rail that offers seven surfaces for attaching accessories featuring an M-LOK attachment system.
