Griffin Adjustable Hair Evener - Use this hair evener to stack short coastal deer hair and calf body hair. The threaded inserts in base allow for adjustments from 1/16" to 1/2" depending upon hair length. Overall length is 2-1/4" - 2-3/4", Funnel length is 1-3/4", Funnel opening is 5/8". A hair evener or stacker is a tool used to level the tips of hair ready for tying. This tool is a must for wings on streamers, wet flies and dry fly patterns that call for hair fibers to be aligned. Hair is placed tip first into the stacker and tapped a few times on a table, allowing the tips to fall in line. The tube is then tilted and removed from the base revealing the perfectly level fibers.
