Walleye Pro Tips:
1. Own the Low-Light Bite
Fish low light periods. Walleye have excellent night vision and will feed when they feel more comfortable in the lower light conditions.
2. Work the Structure
Target structure such as points, rock piles, drop offs, and weed edges. My favorite technique is using a small swimbait fished slowly along the bottom. This technique works really well if you have forward facing sonar to locate fish, but is also just as effective without it.
3. Follow the Seasonal Pattern
Seasons will dictate where walleye are staging. Spring- shallow water after the spawn. Summer- deeper water on drop offs and points. Fall- aggressive feeding shallow and deep.
