Descended from Sig Sauer’s highly popular MCV Virtus, this model features improvements such as a lighter handguard with additional screws for extra rigidity. A lightened profile barrel with improved accuracy and perhaps most important for left-handed shooters, an ambidextrous bolt catch.
The Coyote anodized finish comes on all models. A low-profile foldable stock offers lightweight control when shooting the weapon as a rifle, and the enhanced AR15-style trigger is a joy to pull.
The addition of a 7.62x39 version on an MCX-style platform fulfilled a lot of customer requests.

Don’t let the long version name confuse you, this is a lightweight, 5.56mm caliber semi-automatic pistol that will knock your socks off, (and maybe a lot more things on an intruder if you have one of these for home defense.)
This model has all the features packed into the smallest design of the five SPEAR-LT versions.
A lightweight 10-inch ergometric handguard, Flatblade match trigger, totally ambidextrous controls, interchangeable barrels, and a design ready to attach a suppressor.
The 30-round external magazine attached to the pistols brings the total empty weight to only 6.1 pounds.
An 11.5-inch barrel length combined with a 1:7 twist provides more accuracy than a standard-sized semi-automatic pistol but not at the cost of a lower rate of fire or heat buildup that can come with higher twist rates and longer barrels.
The width is substantial at 2.9 inches, and the height of 7.5 inches creates a solid two-hand shooting platform for most users.
The overall length of 21.3 inches pushes the boundary between pistol and rifle. This is a large handgun, but the recoil is diminished in the 5.56mm cartridge with the weight and the ability to shoot with two hands.

Sig Sauer MCX SPEAR-LT 5.56N-16B Rifle
You might call the 5.56N rifle the big brother of the similar model pistol. The biggest differences are the 13-inch handguard on the rifle, a full three inches longer than the pistol version, and the addition of a push button folding stock with a cheek rest.
The rifle is much longer at an overall length of 34.3 inches, it’s a little higher at 7.8 versus 7.5 inches and the barrel length is 16-inches. The longer barrel increases the accuracy of the 5.56mm ammunition.
The twist rate is identical at 1:7 so airborne bullet performance is dependent on the additional five inches of barrel length.

Sig Sauer MCX SPEAR-LT 300-9B Pistol
Sig Sauer answered the request for a semi-automatic pistol in the relatively new 300 Blackout caliber. The 300 Blackout was expressly created to fire in the M4/AR platform. The ballistics are similar to the .45 ACP when larger 300 Blackout bullets in the 220 to 230-grain size are used.
The 300 Blackout version of the SPEAR-LT is a powerful, hard-hitting pistol round with the unique ability to fire at sub-sonic or super-sonic speeds depending on the cartridge.
When a SPEAR-LT has a mounted suppressor, larger 220 to 230-grain bullets will keep the shooter concealed. If you fire your SPEAR-LT 300 with lighter 110 to 120-grain bullets, the velocity exceeds the speed of sound and creates a loud crack no matter how well designed the suppressor you’re using is.
The hard-hitting heavier rounds and the greater velocity of the lighter rounds give a shooter many choices in a lightweight semi-automatic pistol that weighs just 5.4 pounds.
With a twist of just 1:5 and a barrel length of only nine inches, you’re not likely to win a lot of target shooting contests with this pistol. It will deliver high-impact rounds quickly and efficiently and is the lightest of all the MCX SPEAR-LT models.

As the adage says, if it looks like a duck…The 7.62x39 version of the SPEAR-LT is perhaps the most anticipated model in the five-gun series. Chambered in the popular, and nearly universal NATO 7.62x39 cartridge this is an assault rifle that would make any member of the military proud, but it is legal for civilians to own in its semi-automatic version.
The rifle uses the identical platform as its smaller pistol version and uses a similar design to the lighter-powered 5.56 military and 300 Blackout versions.
The 13-inch handguard and fully ambidextrous controls make this an easy shooting rifle. You can fire it without the stock, but the one-button folding stock with cheek pad greatly increases your control and accuracy when combined with the 16-inch barrel and 1:9.5 twist rate.

There’s no use trying to hide it, this pistol requires a firm, steady hand to fire. The recoil from a 7.62mm cartridge is substantial, even in a rifle. You’ll feel the power of the rifle ammunition in the 6.2-pound pistol each time you pull the trigger.
The 1:9.5 twist is identical to the rifle version of the 7.62x39 model, but the barrel is shorter at just nine inches. You won’t have the same level of accuracy as the rifle version, but the power is the same.
