Mossberg 940 Pro Semi Automatic Shotguns

Renowned for their pump shotguns, Mossberg introduced the 940 Pro in 2020, a semi-automatic 12 gauge with all the features you’d expect from a Mossberg. The 940 is a competition ready shotgun but a great choice for upland game, waterfowl and turkeys. Its gas operated system cycles shells rapidly with just the flick of a finger.

The 940 Pro was designed with input from championship target shooter Jerry Miculek and has all the features you’d expect in a top-of-the-line competition style shotgun. The 940 is manufactured in six different configurations, meeting any challenge you might put it through. Competitive shooting, deer hunting, waterfowl, or upland game bird hunts are all within the realm of this rapid firing platform.

Available in 12-gauge only, the delivery and recharge system handle a wide variety of shells, powder charges and loads. You won’t have to buy special, high-energy shells for this shotgun to operate effectively.

Reliability is the most important feature in a semi-automatic shotgun. Early designs by competitors had problems in cold, wet or dusty conditions and the gun wouldn’t cycle. That doesn’t happen with a 940 pro. It’s designed to fire for extended periods with no maintenance.

The internal components are all nickel/boron coated for corrosion protection. That includes the magazine tube, hammer, gas piston and rings.

• Sporting – Not every hunter is the same, and the 940 Sporting knows that with user-adjustable stocks that manages length-of-pull to fit a shooter’s unique needs. Designed for durability, accuracy and fast cycling it’s a must hunting over dogs or in the brush after deer.
• Turkey – Turkeys are the toughest game birds in America and the 940 Pro Turkey is made to deliver long, accurate shots on these wily birds. Its low profile with receiver cuts make the Turkey optic ready out of the box.
• Waterfowl – Long periods of boredom and a few seconds of sky busting excitement describe most waterfowl hunts. The 940 Waterfowl will resist the worst nature can throw at it and come out firing perfectly when the birds are over the decoys.
• Field – Coated internal parts, a premium finish and an enlarged and beveled loading gate make this a great all-around gun for the field. The adjustable length stock puts the shotgun in perfect position for you every time.
