Without devaluing the action of a Browning, Winchester, or Mossberg shotgun, there is nothing that compares to the feel of a semi-automatic Beretta shotgun. Beretta took a bad rap when they were first introduced to the American market, but a few quick design changes by their engineers over half a century ago fixed the problem and now, it is a fast-action, accurate shotgun for either the range or the field.
The A400 is offered in both 20- and 12-gauge designs and chambered to handle 3-inch shells in the smaller gauge and three-and-a-half in the 12-gauge. Once the A400 required higher energy shells, but now the shotgun will reliably cycle lighter range loads and powerful slugs, turkey, and goose loads.
Designed for a wide variety of uses, the A400 is at home in the woodlands of the Northeast or deep south in pursuit of whitetail deer with slugs and buckshot and is equally adept at waterfowl hunting on a sub-zero December morning. For large birds like turkey and Canada geese you can’t beat the combination of fast action and heavy firepower.
