Throwing almost three-quarters of a pound of lead downrange in just a few seconds with a flick of your trigger finger gives you an idea of the power of a .50 BMG. This is a massively powerful cartridge and Barrett has placed it in a relatively lightweight platform. At 28 pounds, it is still four times the weight of an average hunting rifle but the power and range are unprecedented. Nothing matches the power of the .50 cal short of military ordinance.

A large caliber rifle requires a strong, reliable, durable platform and Barrett offers that while still reducing the overall weight of this model by about five pounds in comparison with other 50 BMG models. Flip up rear sights allowing accurate firing but mounting a quality scope allows tight patterns at a mile and hits at even two miles. This is a long-distance demon.

Available in a 20- or 29-inch barrel, and with a stock designed to absorb the tremendous energy of a .50 caliber cartridge, this Barrett has surprisingly less recoil than similar models. Suppressor ready for the use with the Barrett QDL suppressor, it reduces the shock even further. The only shock you’ll find with this high-quality, long-distance rifle is the sticker variety. It is an expensive rifle.
