Ugly Stik GX2 Spinning Combo (Prior Gen) - The reels that were designed for these Ugly Stik combos are as tough as the rods they come with by using a double anodized aluminum spool with the well known oversized bail wire. All the reels come with a soft touch handle knob with two pinion bearings the give the reel the needed durability and help reduce the wear on the internal parts of the reel. Using a glass filled nylon body, the reel sizes vary from 20-35 with three ball bearings and a one-way clutch instant anti-reversing bearing. Ever since 1976, Shakespeare has strived to give anglers a product that would be durable and reliable by engineering the Ugly Stik with all of its many features that give anglers those lasting fishing memories. Using comments and suggestions from many anglers, the Ugly Stik GX2 series has been released with many new features such as the Ugly Tuff Guides which provide maximum durability.
