This mount is geared towards fishermen that are looking to get their sonar units up off the floor for easier viewing and less hassle. A quick turn of the base knob allows you to raise the mount from a flat position to a vertical position allowing you to view your graph. After you tighten that knob, turn the pivot knob which allows you to raise the mount from 17 inches up to 24 inches and also rotate your graph 360° for an optimal view of your graph anywhere in the boat.
