Bass Fishing Pro Tips:
1. Match Your Presentation to the Temperature
Time of year and water temp will dictate the techniques used to increase success. In colder water you should slow down presentation, while in warmer water you can use a quicker presentation. 58 degrees for most of the country is a good centerline for deciding what type of presentation might work.
2. Target Structure to Find Feeding Bass
Find any type of structure or cover that bass can use to ambush prey. This would include rocks, points, grass, weeds, bushes, and trees. These are always good places to start to help you put together a pattern.
3. Imitate the Forage
Knowing the forage in the water you are fishing can also help you dictate what lures to use. If the bass are feeding on minnows or baitfish, odds are you can catch them using lures such as swimbaits or jerk baits that mimic the forage.
